M. Lutz et Al. Spek, COMPLEX OF (-)-MORPHINE WITH BETA-PHENYLHYDRACRYLIC ACID, Acta crystallographica. Section C, Crystal structure communications, 54, 1998, pp. 1477-1479
The crystal structure of the complex of (-)-morphine with (S)-beta-phe
nylhydracrylic acid, C17H20NO3+. C9H9O3- is reported. There are no maj
or differences in the conformation of the piperidine ring of morphine
compared with other protonated morphines. The staggered conformation o
f the central bond in the free form of beta-phenylhydracrylic acid cha
nges to another staggered conformation in the morphine complex. This c
onformational change is induced by intermolecular hydrogen bonds.
