Abstract
In a prepilot study, eight adults with chronic PTSD underwent three 90 -minute sessions of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMD R) at one-week intervals in an open trial. None of the seven who compl eted treatment met criteria for current PTSD two months later. Signifi cant decreases in measures of pathology and disturbance were recorded. A controlled trial of EMDR is under way.
