Abstract
The lifetimes of the lowest 1(-), 3(-), 5(-) and 7(-) states in Sm-150 are measured in the (n(th), gamma) reaction with the GRID method. Abo ve these up to spin J = 18, B(E1) values are estimated from experiment al B(E1)/B(E2) ratios. The E1 transition moments peak at J = 5-7 and a re lowest in the region 11 less than or equal to J less than or equal to 15 where previous studies suggest enhanced octupole collectivity. O bserved is a staggering of the El moments with odd and even J values. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
