Mn. Mamedov et al., POLARIZATION IN ELECTRODEPOSITION OF A BISMUTH-TELLURIUM ALLOY FROM CHLORIDE-FLUORIDE ELECTROLYTES, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 34(10), 1998, pp. 1094-1097
Codeposition of Te and Bi from chloride-fluoride electrolytes is studi
ed by cyclic voltammetry. It is shown that the alloy deposition involv
es depolarization of both components. Bismuth is deposited with a high
er depolarization. Alloys that are deposited at higher potentials and
are richer in tellurium are n-type semiconductors, and alloys rich in
bismuth are p-type semiconductors. The X-ray diffraction shows that th
e produced alloys are amorphous.
