An indirect three-stage method of the PhNHNH2 synthesis is proposed. I
n the first stage, which involves the galvanostatic electrolysis of NH
4Cl in a heterogeneous medium (aqueous solution of NaCl and CCl4), a s
olution containing NCl3 is produced with yields of 80% by substance an
d 60% by current. In the second stage, an aqueous solution of NH2Cl wi
th a 50-% yield (recalculated to NCl3) is obtained by the interaction
between an NCl3 solution in CCl4 and an aqueous NH3 solution. In the l
ast stage, PhNHNH2 is obtained with an similar to 70-% yield (recalcul
ated to NH2Cl) via the reaction of an aqueous NH2Cl solution with PhNH
2 and NH3 in the presence of NaOH and gelatin.
