The acid and basic hydrolysis of N-methyl-N-nitroso-p-toluenesulphonam
ide (MNTS) was studied in different micellar aggregates (CTACl, CTABr,
TTABr, LTABr, and OTACl). The effect of mixed micelles (OTAX-LTAX) wa
s also studied. The kinetic behaviour was explained on the basis of th
e pseudophase model, from which the binding constants of MNTS to diffe
rent micelles, the ion exchange constants and the reactivity constants
