Abstract
We present a 5 GHz VLBI image of the compact steep spectrum (CSS) quas ar 3C287. The source has been one of the candidate precessing CSS sour ces. Both static features and large structural changes are observed si nce the earliest VLBI experiments. The overall picture does not seem t o support a precessing jet scenario.
