If a light gluino, with a mass of the order of GeV, exists in the mini
mal supersymmetric extension of the standard model, then it can contri
bute to the production rate of the top quark pairs at hadron colliders
via (g) over tilde (g) over tilde-->t (t) over bar. Because the top q
uark is heavy, the masses of the superpartners of the left-handed and
right-handed top quarks can be very different such that a parity-viola
ting observable can be induced in the tree level production process. W
e discuss the phenomenology of this parity violating asymmetry at the
