Abstract
The various chromatographic methods suitable for the separation and qu antitative determination of phenoxyalkyl acid herbicides in environmen tal samples are reviewed, with special emphasis being placed on sample preparation methods such as liquid-liquid, solid-phase and supercriti cal fluid extractions. Techniques are classified (high-performance liq uid chromatography, gas-liquid chromatography, capillary zone electrop horesis, micellar electrokinetic chromatography) and discussed separat ely, The advantages and disadvantages of the various preparation and s eparation methods and their combinations are evaluated.
