In. Brovikova et al., KINETIC CHARACTERISTICS OF PRODUCTION AND LOSS OF HYDROGEN-ATOMS IN THE POSITIVE-COLUMN OF GLOW-DISCHARGE IN H-2, High temperature, 36(5), 1998, pp. 681-686
The production rates and concentration of atoms, the rate coefficients
of their heterogeneous loss, and some electrophysical parameters of p
lasma are measured in the positive column of a d.c. discharge in H-2.
Based on these data, a simultaneous solution of the Boltzmann equation
and equations of the vibration kinetics for H-2(X(1)Sigma(g)) and pla
sma conduction has shown that vibrationally excited molecules have a s
mall effect (both direct and indirect, through the electron energy dis
tribution function) on the processes involving electrons. The dissocia
tion occurs during disintegration of the b(3)Sigma(u), a(3)Sigma(g)(+)
, and c(3)Pi(u) states, which are produced by the electron impact exci
tation of X(1)Sigma(g)(V = 0) state; the loss of atoms is due to heter
ogeneous recombination proceeding according to the first kinetic order
with respect to their concentration.
