Abstract
In this paper we present the data of the magnetic susceptibility and t he low temperature specific heat of Ce3Pt4. The large anomaly in the s pecific heat and the behaviour of the magnetic susceptibility are expl ained by an antiferromagnetic phase transition at T-N = 2.8 K. The ent ropy due to the phase transition is R1n2 per mole Cerium indicating a local moment antiferromagnet. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All right s reserved.
