Ea. Skridlevskaya et al., RISK-FACTORS OF DEVELOPMENT OF ACUTE PERI OPERATIVE HEART-FAILURE IN PATIENTS WITH POSTINFARCTION LEFT-VENTRICULAR ANEURYSMS, Kardiologia, 37(2), 1997, pp. 44-47
Risk factors of development of acute heart failure in perioperative pe
riod were studied in 42 patients with left ventricular aneurysms after
myocardial infarction. Data analyzed included history and results of
physical examination, ECG, chest x-ray, coronary angiography, biplane
ventriculography and Tl-201 myocardial scintigraphy during exercise. T
he rate of development of acute heart failure depended on the initial
severity of angina and heart failure, degree and extent of coronary ar
tery stenotic lesions and dimensions of myocardial scar. Conclusion wa
s made that choice of surgical tactics based on thorough preoperative
investigation according to the proposed protocol should diminish risk
of perioperative acute heart failure in patients with postinfarction l
eft ventricular aneurysms.
