Abstract
A cold plasma theory is development for three waves mode-mode nonlinear interactions. For very low frequencies it is found that processes involving three Alfven waves or three magnetosonic waves are forbidden. For the solar wind (CA = CS) only the Alfven + longitudinal waves interaction is relevant, the result being another Alfven wave. For magnetosferic cases (CA >> CS) the relevant interaction is the Alfven + magnetosonic processe resulting in a longitudinal mode.
