Aa. Ishchenko, PHYSICOCHEMICAL ASPECTS OF CREATION OF MODERN PHOTOSENSITIVE MATERIALS BASED ON POLYMETHINE DYES, Teoreticeskaa i eksperimentalnaa himia, 34(4), 1998, pp. 214-232
The peculiarities of photophysical and photochemical properties of pol
ymethine dyes, which determine their application as photosensitive mat
erials in luminescent concentrators of light, fluorescent probes and l
abels for intercalation of DNA, laser media, photoinitiators of polyme
rization, electroluminescent media, are analyzed. The fundamental path
ways of degradation of energy of electronic excitation are discussed p
hotoisomerization, intersystem crossing and internal conversion, elect
ron phototransfer lit the ion pairs, interaction of chromophores, homo
geneous and dissimillar association The relationship between these fac
tors and the structure of dyes and the nature of media is considered.
Particular attention is devoted to creation and optimisation of colour
ed polymeric photosensitive materials.
