This paper briefly describes the principles of hydrodynamical and ecol
ogical modelling of marine systems and how model results are presented
by use of MATLAB. Two application examples are shown. One refers to m
odelling and simulation of the carbon vertical transport in the Greenl
and Sea and the other is a study on the effect of wind pattern for the
invasion success of zooplankton from the Norwegian Sea into the North
Sea by use of particle tracking.
