Abstract
The MHD reduced shock relations are considered and their modifications due to an anisotropic plasma thermal pressure are investigated. Density and velocity jumps are obtained as functions of tangential magnetic field jump, Alfvénic Mach number and anisotropy parameters. For low Mach number moderate departures from the isotropic case appear, thus emphasizing the importance of the pressure tensor determination.
