Advances in the applications of TLC and HPTLC for the separation, dete
ction, and qualitative and quantitative determination of pesticides, o
ther agrochemicals, and related compounds are reviewed for the period
1994-1996. Analyses are covered for a variety of samples, such as food
and environmental, and for residues of pesticides of various types, I
ncluding insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides, belonging to differ
ent chemical classes. A limited number of references on formulation an
alysis and the use of radio-TLC for studies of pesticide metabolism ar
e also included. A collection of representative chromatographic system
s for practical separations and analyses of a variety of pesticides is
presented at the end of the review.
