Abstract
Several racemates have been resolved on home-made microcrystalline cel lulose triacetate (MCTA) plates eluted with aqueous - organic mixtures containing methanol, ethanol, or 2-propanol. The roles of the chemica l structures of the solutes and of the type and concentration of organ ic solvent on the resolving capability of this polysaccharide have bee n evaluated. Detection of enantiomeric mixtures in the ratios 50:1, 10 0:1, and 200:1 was performed by scanning densitometry of the MCTA chro matograms.
