A computer-assisted retardation factor prediction system (RPS) was inv
estigated for HPTLC of sixteen O-ethyl, N-isopropyl, phosphoro(thioure
ido) thioates. The system is based on the use of three physicochemical
parameters (hydrophobicity, II, substituent length, L, and substituen
t maximum width, B-5) which have high correlation with retardation fac
tor (R-F) in HPTLC. The RPS was evaluated by comparing measured R-F va
lues with those predicted. Good agreement was obtained between predict
ed data and experimental results.
