Abstract
A new color reaction based on the formation of black lead sulfide by t reatment of mancozeb with alkaline plumbite solution has been develope d for the TLC detection of mancozeb. The lower limit of detection on a silica gel plate is 0.45 mu g spot(-1). Fungicides other than dithioc arbamates do not interfere with the test. The test can also be applied for the detection of mancozeb in soil extracts.
