Abstract
Disadvantages of OIPK-1-based formation testing devices that became co mmercially available in 1995 are highlighted. The replacement AGIP mod el features numerous advantages over the conventional OPIK-1. Design f eatures and operating technologies are addressed for uncased oil and g as well applications. These improvements offer wider well logging and testing flexibility.
