Abstract
The magnitude of an optoacoustic signal is calculated on the basis of the simulated dynamics of populations for molecular energy levels unde r conditions of absorption of meander-modulated (CO2)-C-12-O-16-laser radiation. It is demonstrated that the sign of an optoacoustic signal arising due to the absorption of laser radiation by a CO2 molecule is always opposite to the sign of other optoacoustic signals, at least in the case of meander-modulated laser radiation. A formula for the calc ulation of the magnitude of an optoacoustic signal for a multicomponen t gas medium is presented, and the accuracy of the employed approximat ion is estimated.
