Abstract
Bonding between single-crystal manganese-zinc ferrites using an electr ic field was investigated. For a given temperature, bonding was accele rated with the application of an electric field. Above 1100 degrees C the effect of electric field was not obvious due to thermally activate d self-motion of the atoms. Bonding improved with increased oxygen par tial pressure. This was attributed to the higher diffusion coefficient of the cations at higher oxygen partial pressures.
