Abstract
Azidodiols, bromodiols and triol derivatives were regioselectively mon ooxidised to the corresponding ketols using dimethyldioxirane. This re gioselectivity is essentially determined by dipolar functionalities cl ose to the potential reactive carbinol. These results make the reactiv ity of polyols with dimethyldioxirane highly predictable. (C) 1998 Pub lished by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
