Abstract
The adsorption of bovine serum albumin on the dispersed silica surface from aqueous medium was studied. Protein adsorption is virtually inde pendent of the storage time of the silica suspension. The effects of t he solvation of dipeptides modeling albumin fragments, and their inter action with =Si-OH groups of silica in both molecular and zwitter-ioni c forms were considered. It was established that the maximum contribut ion to the stabilization of adsorption complexes is made by the =SiO-. .. H+NR and =SiO(H) ... H+NRCOO- bonds.
