ON THE RELATION BETWEEN THE STRENGTH OF DISPERSE STRUCTURES AND THE FORCES OF INTERACTION BETWEEN STRUCTURE-FORMING PARTICLES AND THEIR PACKING

Two approaches (by Shohukin and Yakhnin) to estimate the strength of d isperse structures were compared, and their practical identity was dem onstrated. The approximations were formulated involving the simplest m odeling of the disperse structures (monodispersity, monostructural pat tern, the equal contact strength, the absolute brittleness of contacts , and the complete disaggregation). A method to overcome the difficult ies arising from these approximations was proposed.
