L. Morselli et al., A METHODOLOGICAL PROPOSAL FOR THE MONITORING OF ATMOSPHERIC DEPOSITIONS AND EVALUATION OF CRITICAL LOADS EXCEEDANCES, Annali di chimica, 88(9-10), 1998, pp. 645-655
Data concerning one year's monitoring of wet and dry atmospheric depos
itions in a station located in Northern Italy (city of Bologna) are re
ferred. Contents of acidity and sulphur are determined and compared wi
th the ''critical loads'' of acidity allowing an assessment of the env
ironmental quality of the territory. In order to evaluate the total po
lluting fluxes, two different collecting systems have been employed: a
traditional ''wet & dry'' sampler and an innovative dry deposition sa
mpler (DAS, Dry deposition on Aqueous Surface). The present paper repr
esents a preliminary approach to the determination of total polluting
fluxes and their comparison with critical loads in connection with the
territory examined in UNECE maps.
