Gastroesophageal reflux (GER) is often associated with respiratory dis
orders. We report an unusual case of GER presented with haemoptysis. O
n fibreoptic bronchoscopy (FFB) a focal erythematous lesion of the muc
ose of the main carina was found. Repealed FFB and biopsy excluded in
situ neoplasm. Pharmacological treatment of GER with sisapride and ran
itidine resulted in complete remission of the bronchial lesions. To th
e best of our knowledge haemoptysis with bronchoscopic lesions due to
the gastroesophageal reflux has not been described previously.
