The theoretical conditions and principles for the formation of coating
s from metal powders stratified in chemical and phase composition usin
g a combination of methods are developed. Wear resistant inclusions of
defined size and concentration are placed in a diffusionally alloyed
or eutectically melted matrix. Composite coatings for operation under
stationary friction conditions with a required gradient of structure a
nd properties are formed by the thermochemical treatment (diffusional
alloying or eutectic melting) of matrix-filler electrolytic deposits.
The optimal classes of graded coatings are defined on the basis of mod
eling the stress stare of the coatings.
