This article describes a two-week residential program for youths with
visual impairments whose goals were to enhance their career developmen
t and transition from school to work. An evaluation of the program, ba
sed on telephone interviews with the participants and their parents, i
ndicated that the program gave the participants the opportunity to soc
ialize and share experiences with other youths and helped them acquire
a number of skills and become more aware of careers and job responsib
ilities.
