Abstract
Remote maintenance of damaged components in ITER is based on replaceme nt. This involves the transfer of activated components in sealed but n ot shielded transfer casks to the Hot Cell Facility. Measures taken to avoid the risk of contamination with tritium and activated dust durin g such operations are described and preparatory activities, involving hands-on assisted tasks, are summarized.
