R. Haange et al., RADIATION AND SAFETY ASPECTS OF REMOVAL OF ACTIVATED COMPONENTS FROM THE ITER VACUUM VESSEL, Fusion engineering and design, 42, 1998, pp. 187-192
Remote maintenance of damaged components in ITER is based on replaceme
nt. This involves the transfer of activated components in sealed but n
ot shielded transfer casks to the Hot Cell Facility. Measures taken to
avoid the risk of contamination with tritium and activated dust durin
g such operations are described and preparatory activities, involving
hands-on assisted tasks, are summarized. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevie
