Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) has been reported in 6% of malignancies of solid
organ transplant recipients, Most of the observations have been in re
cipients of renal allografts but, so far, KS has not been described in
lung transplantation. We report a case of bronchial RS occurring in a
black patient 6 months after single lung-transplantation. Skin lesion
s were absent and, interestingly, BS lesions were observed solely in t
he trachea and the native lung. Following reduction of the immunosuppr
essive regimen a complete remission was obtained 1 year later, Up to t
he present time, this clinical remission is very encouraging, but clos
e surveillance remains necessary to detect rejection episodes or the r
eappearance of KS following manipulation of the immunosuppressive ther
apy.
