CART BEFORE THE HORSE - THE SAVING-GROWTH NEXUS IN MEXICO

Using recent developments in econometric techniques, we show that the conventionally accepted view that higher saving rate causes higher eco nomic growth does not hold for Mexico. In fact, the causality goes in the opposite direction. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights rese rved.
