Abstract
In this work, 2-halopyridines were found to have substitution rate con stants greater than those for other substituted pyridines previously s tudied, suggesting an effect of ligand polarity on substitution rates. It was also found that nucleophilic attack on the 2-chloropyridine wa s catalyzed by binding to the ruthenium complex.
