Abstract
The synthesis and characterisation of copper(II) complexes of Schiff b ase ligands derived from 2-(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,3-propanediamine and su bstituted salicylaldehydes are reported together with the crystal stru cture of CuL2. MeOH in which the ligand L-2 is derived from 5-bromosal icylaldehyde is also reported. The pendant arm does not engage in inte r- or intramolecular binding and inspection of the packing diagram sho ws that the molecules coexist as discrete van der Waals dimers.
