Abstract
A triad system containing the residues of L-tyrosine methyl ester (Tyr OMe), mesoporphyrin II (P), and 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)thio-3-methyl-1,4-na phthoquinone (Q) was synthesized. The methods of steady-state and dyna mic fluorescence were used to reveal the energy and electron transfers in the system. Quantum yields (phi) were estimated to be 0.16 Mr the diad P-Q and 0.53 for the triad Q-P-TyrOme. The most preferable confor mation for the triad was computed.
