Abstract
The novel polyoxothioanion [Mo9S8O12(OH)(8)(H2O)(2)](2-) was prepared from the acido-basic condensation of four {(Mo2S2O2)-S-v} building uni ts around a central {(MoO6)-O-VI} octahedron, the anion was characteri zed by X-ray diffraction as a tetramethylammonium salt.
