Abstract
O-Methyl N-(2,2-dimethylbut-3-enoyl)-N-phenylthiocarbamate crystallize d in the chiral space group P2(1), and the solid state photoreaction i nitiated intramolecular [2+2] thietane formation followed by rearrange ment, leading to optically active gamma-thiolactone.
