Abstract
The reactivities of tricarbonyl(2,4-cycloheptadiene-1,6-dione)iron tow ard several kinds of nucleophiles and electrophiles were investigated. As a result, it was found that tricarbonyl(2,4-cycloheptadiene-1,6-di one)iron has several reaction sites and undergoes several types of rea ctions. A new synthetic route to hinokitiol and yl-(7,8-diphenylheptar iafulvalene-1,6-quinone)iron from (2,4-cycloheptadiene-1,6-dione)iron was explored. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
