Abstract
Densely arrayed (pitch < 10 m) semiconductor lasers with individually controlled lasing wavelengths (called microarray semiconductor lasers) were developed as fundamental wavelength-selectable light sources. Ei ght different lasing wavelengths, each >80nm, were obtained using a ch ip with a laser section that is only 70 mu m wide and 400 mu m long.
