Abstract
The authors describe an architecture for an all-optical packet-switche d routing node which eliminates the detrimental effects of intra-band crosstalk arising from filterless wavelength converters employing cros s-gain modulation in semiconductor optical amplifiers. A dual-stage wa velength conversion scheme and an arrayed-waveguide grating for optica l routing demonstrates < 0.9dB power penalty for 800Mbit/s payloads.
