Abstract
The tendency to produce strips in the mill room is continuing. This is related to the changing techniques with the ensuing manufacturing equ ipment, In tire production it suffices in general to produce broad and rough strips for feeding the extruder, Technical rubber goods and rub ber-metal parts clearly need the large variation of different strip wi dths for transfer to injection moulding equipment, The highest prerequ isites in strip production for the mill room engineer are in the profi le range, Strip widths < 30 mm are no extraordinary demands. Strip pro duction can occur with a broad variety of machinery including the onli ne strip cutting directly in the batch-off equipment.
