The spatial resolution and the sensitivity of a blue colored Imaging P
late (blue-IP) were compared with these of a conventional Imaging Plat
e (white-IP) by using Cu K-alpha X-rays. The spatial resolution of the
blue-IP was estimated to be 84 mu m (FWHM) and 220 mu m (FW@10%M), wh
ile that of white-IP was estimated to be 178 and 395 mu m, respectivel
y. No significant differences were observed between the blue and white
-IPs in terms of the sensitivity and the dynamic range. These encourag
ing results obtained in the present study can facilitate substituting
traditional white-IPs with blue-IPs in various fields of X-ray experim
ents. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
