A multivariable Weighted Predictive Control (MV WPC) algorithm is pres
ented and properties of the multivariable closed-loop system are discu
ssed. Simulation studies for industrial processes show that satisfacto
ry closed-loop performance can be achieved by tuning the design parame
ters in the WPC algorithm. A series of tuning guidelines for a success
