Abstract
It is shown that the nastiest bounded disturbance stress for the stabl e second order oscillator is bang-bang with switching set by the state . A quadratic index and a time-distance index are used to evaluate the severity of the stressing. A procedure is suggested to construct a sw itching curve which synthesizes the disturbance stress in feedback for m. Examples illustrating the results and the possible extension to thi rd and higher order systems are given.
