ATRIAL-PACING RESULTS IN PATIENTS IMPLANTED WITH A SINGLE-LEAD, DDD OLBI STIMULATION SYSTEM

The aim of this study was to evaluate the atrial stimulation performan ce with atrial floating electrodes using the overlapping biphasic impu lse (OLBI) configuration after one year of follow-up. For II patients with severe AV block, the mean atrial threshold was 2.46 +/- 0.40 V up on implantation, 2.86 +/- 0.91 V after 6 weeks, and 2.77 +/- 0.82 V af ter 12 months (for pulse widths of 0.5 ms). Results of the Holter inve stigations showed effective atrial stimulation in 87% of all cases dur ing the 6-week follow-up and in 73% after 12 months.
