Abstract
The developmental regulation of tubulin and several of its posttransla tional modifications was examined during the differentiation of rat ce rebellar granule cells in vitro. In particular, we have noted that the glutamylation of alpha- and beta-tubulin subunits varies during devel opment and becomes more prominent in differentiating neuronal processe s. These results indicate that glutamylation of tubulin may be importa nt in the stabilization of microtubules during the maturation of the n euronal cytoskeleton.
