Jl. Butler et Al. Butler, A FOURIER-SERIES SOLUTION FOR THE RADIATION IMPEDANCE OF A FINITE CYLINDER, The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 104(5), 1998, pp. 2773-2778
A mathematical model for the radiation impedance of a finite cylinder
with extended rigid ends is developed using a Fourier series approach.
This series approach is shown to be possible by modeling the cylinder
as a widely separated periodic replica representation. Radiation impe
dance results an obtained for the cylinder operating in uniform, dipol
e, and cardioid radial modes of vibration. The cardioid mode is then u
sed as a radiation impedance model for the underwater sound slotted cy
linder transducer. (C) 1998 Acoustical Society of America. [S0001-4966
