Abstract
A modified modal frequency spacing (MMFS) method is developed, which c an be used to directly evaluate the coating density rho(c) and the lon gitudinal velocities of the substrate and of the coating, V-L(S) and V -L(C), based on the measured cutoff frequency data. Numerical simulati on results showed that the error in evaluating V-L(S) and V-L(C) is le ss than 0.4% and is less than 4% in rho(c) compared with the input dat a.
