Abstract
A detailed step-by-step determination of the optical potential (WF) fu sion radius parameter r(F) is carried out from a simultaneous calculat ion of elastic scattering, total reaction and fusion cross sections. A n approach consistent with the direct reaction theory is used in the c alculations, It is found that for a simultaneous good fit to the exper imental elastic scattering, total reaction and fusion data, the fusion radius parameter r(F) should take a value (approximate to 1.4 fm) lar ger than that commonly assumed in other theories.
